Issue History +

Search, compare, flag, or share changes to an issue with a more comprehensive history

How to use

Install and Quick Start

After installing the Issue History+ app for Jira Cloud, a new tab labeled ‘History+’ will be added under each issue.

How to Use

View Issue changes on a timeline

On the History+ tab, you will find every issue change displayed in reverse chronological order, ranging from the most recent to the oldest. The variations between all changes are visually highlighted on the timeline: red represents the previous value, while green indicates the new one.

Presently, the timeline does not display time tracking changes; however, this enhancement is in our near-term roadmap!

How to use

Search in the history

You can utilize the search bar to delve into changes made to the issue and search for the pertinent ones.

You can search using expressions that include the field name, values, or the username of the individual who made the changes.

For instance, if you wish to know when the user ‘John’ altered the priority of the issue, simply input the expression ‘John priority’.

How to Use

Flag important changes

You can mark important changes on the timeline to visually differentiate these for easier identification for your team.

Utilize the orange flag button located on the top right side of a change to highlight it.

Please note that in order to flag a change, the user must possess the “Edit Issue” permission within the project.

How to use

Share changes and notify users about them

Not all relevant users or stakeholders are necessarily contributors to an issue, such as watchers or reporters.

You can share important changes with these users to keep them informed. Just click on the share button located on the top right side of a change, and choose the users you wish to notify. These users will receive an email notification about this change, similar to if they were contributors or watchers of the issue.

Please note that you can only select and send emails to users who have the ‘Browse projects’ permission and possess any necessary permissions to view the specific issue.

This app is still in early access and feature set and pricing may change in the future.
